Peter J. Somera
PETER J. SOMERA, Jr. is a co-founder of Somera & Silva, LLP. In 2003, at age 36, he was honored as one of the youngest lawyers in the United States to achieve a verdict in excess of one million dollars for a single personal injury, which was the case of Little v. The Vessel Halleluiah. Mr. Somera is a member of the attorneys achieving a Million Dollar Verdict. He received his first year of legal education at one of the oldest law schools in the nation, Indiana University School of Law-Bloomington, founded in 1842, and obtained Dean's Honors for the Fall of 1992 and Spring of 1993. He finished his legal education at the University of Miami School of Law where he graded onto the Editorial Board of the Inter-American Law Review (top 15% of the class).
Mr. Somera actively litigates cases involving catastrophic injuries, personal and financial, and wrongful death on behalf of the victims. These cases include vehicular collision, product liability, medical negligence, trucking catastrophe, railroad catastrophe, airline catastrophe, drug companies, tobacco companies, industrial manufacturers, insurance fraud, business fraud, environmental injury, class actions, and others. Mr. Somera’s experience includes the United States Department of Justice.

Paul M. Silva, M.D. J.D. is a co-founder of Somera & Silva, LLP. Dr. Silva attended the University of Florida, College of Medicine, graduating as a member of the Junior Honors Early Admission Program in 1991. Subsequently, he completed an internship in Family Medicine and a Residency in Ophthalmology, all at the University of Florida. Dr. Silva established a successful private practice in Ophthalmology in South Florida in 1995. Dr. Silva frequently reviewed medical malpractice cases as an expert during his practice. After Dr. Silva completed Law School, he decided to exclusively dedicate his time to being a patient advocate and represent victims of personal injury and medical negligence. He is a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the Florida Bar, and is admitted to practice in Federal Court in the Southern District.
Dr. Silva actively litigates cases involving catastrophic injuries, personal and financial, and wrongful death on behalf of the victims, with a concentration on medical malpractice cases.
